South Surrey Entertainment Complex Online Petition

Petition in Support of South Surrey Entertainment Complex

I, the undersigned resident, wish to petition for the following:

That the City of Surrey approve the South Surrey Entertainment Complex located at 1083, 1109 and 1177 - 168 Street and 1068 Highway No. 99.

The proposed South Surrey Entertainment Complex will include a moderate size gaming facility as well as a four-star, 200 room hotel, 800 seat show theatre, four restaurants and a 60,000 sq. ft. conference centre.

The South Surrey Entertainment Complex will provide 1,200 construction jobs and, when operational, 500 full time jobs, as well as related supplier jobs.

The Entertainment Complex will also provide a landmark venue for conferences and entertainment, currently unavailable in Surrey.

Valuable tourism and gaming dollars will stay in Surrey and with the South Surrey Entertainment Complex, gaming revenue to the city is estimated to increase from $2.9 million per year to $6 million per year.

In addition to the jobs the gaming industry creates both directly and indirectly, gaming benefits citizens and communities by providing funding for health care, education, and charitable and municipal programs.
